Can Dogs Eat Pineapple? Flesh Only, Skip the Core
Fresh pineapple flesh in small amounts is fine for many dogs. The tough core and syrup packs are the parts to skip.

Canned syrup packs and juice cocktails are not the same treat. Count what left the cutting board before you call it “just fruit.”
What AKC allows
AKC’s answer is yes for raw pineapple in small amounts. A few chunks, peeled and sliced into bite-sized pieces, is the treat language. Frozen pieces of fresh pineapple are fine on that page for hot days. It is still a snack, not a meal topper.
Pineapple brings natural sugar and fiber. AKC warns that large amounts can upset digestion. Watch the first serving. Diarrhea or a soft gut means that fruit may not be this dog’s snack. Dogs with a pancreatitis history should not get a new sugary extra without the veterinarian who already manages that dog.

Core, skin, and canned syrup
AKC says the tough central core can obstruct, and so can the spiny skin. Feed the flesh only. Dispose of the core where the dog cannot raid it. A puppy’s throat makes both risks sharper. Ask the veterinarian who sees that puppy before you share any cube.
Canned pineapple is a no on AKC’s page because of syrup sugar. The same caution covers juice cocktails and sweetened drinks sold as “pineapple.” This guide is the raw flesh, not the beverage aisle. Read labels for xylitol in sugar-free products. That is a different emergency than fruit.
