Beagle Puppy Weight Chart and Calculator

An adult Beagle usually weighs 20 to 30 lb (9 to 14 kg). Use the calculator for a personal estimate, or check the chart below to see whether your puppy is on track.

Weigh your puppy on the same scale each time. Ages under 8 weeks are less reliable, because very young puppies grow at different speeds.

How Beagles grow

Merry scent hound with a big voice and a bigger nose. As a medium breed, a Beagle is roughly half grown at about 5 months and reaches adult size at around 12 to 15 months. There are two Beagle size varieties: dogs under 13 inches (usually under 20 lb) and 13 to 15 inches (20 to 30 lb).

Small and medium puppies have fast metabolisms. Split their food into 3 or 4 meals a day until about 4 months old, then move to 2 or 3 meals.

Is my Beagle puppy underweight or overweight?

The scale only tells half the story. Check your puppy's body condition: you should be able to feel the ribs easily under a thin layer of fat, and see a waist when you look down from above. A puppy that tracks low on the chart but has good energy and body condition is usually just going to be a smaller adult. Talk to your vet if your puppy stops gaining for more than two weeks, loses weight, or has persistent diarrhea.
