The wild snakes that use modified saliva and deliver the venom or the toxin generally through their teeth that are highly specialized are referred to as the venomous snakes. This delivery of venom in case of the venomous snakes is seen to be delivered through the teeth that may include the hollow fangs in order to be able to defend themselves if necessary and to make their victims immobilized. The non venomous snakes unlike the venomous ones constrict its prey or just overpower it by their jaws.
The venomous snakes are not from the single taxonomic group but they are the species that include several families of snakes. This is the information that has been obtained as the proof for the fact that the venom is secreted in the venomous snakes more than once that actually happens because of the convergent evolution. According to the reports of the various surveys, it has been observed that the venom present in the venomous snakes is found to be in extreme that have emerged as a result of the process of parallel evolution.
The venomous snakes are always considered to be poisonous. But this cannot be taken as complete truth. This is because the venom and the poisons are thought to be same, but they are not actually same. The main difference between the poison and the venom is that the poison is absorbed by the body parts such as the skin, etc, but the venom needs to be introduced directly in the tissues or the blood stream of the body.
The venomous snakes are considered to be poisonous but this is not actually true. The venomous snakes contain venom that affects the body when it gets introduced to the body through the blood stream of the body. Therefore, it is suggested that venom must not be confused with poison at all. Because of the extreme secretion of the venom these snakes are referred to as venomous snakes.
