In early 2008, National Geographic Adventure Channel Australia and National Geographic Adventure Channel Italy launched a new video sharing feature on their website called Blognotes. The National Geographic Adventure Channel was originally branded Adventure one from it launch on November 1, 1999 until May 1, 2007 when it relaunched with a new brand, strengthening the overall Nat Geo presence. All countries adopted the change, except the United Kingdom which instead changed A1 to Nat Geo Wild. National Geographic Adventure Channel is also a global adventure travel video and photography portal, launching worldwide in 2009.
In September 1997, the worlds first National Geographic Adventure Channel launched in European countries and Australia. In July 1998, National Geographic Channel Asia was launched in partnership and distribution with STAR TV. Today, the National Geographic Adventure Channel is available in over 143 countries, seen in more than 160 million homes and in 25 languages.
In the United States, National Geographic Adventure Channel, launched in January 2001, is a joint venture of National Geographic Television and Film and Fox Cable Networks. National Geographic Adventure Channel provides programming expertise and the Fox Networks Group provides its expertise on distribution, marketing, and ad sales. Nat Geo Junior is broadcast in Netherlands, Belgium and India and created specifically for children. Nat Geo Junior also features as a block of programming on the National Geographic Channel in Asia.
